Peter and John encounter a lame man begging outside the Beautiful Gate as they are on their way into the temple at the hour of prayer. The miraculous healing of this man then occupies the better part of two chapters, as Peter explains to the crowd, and then the council, that this healing took place through the name and power of Jesus.
