How Long? Is There Hope for the House of David?

Isaiah came to prominence at a key time in Israel's history. King Uzziah, who had provided stability for the southern kingdom for decades, had died. Assyria was threatening all Israel, and soon would take the northern kingdom captive. Isaiah's message of both judgment and future deliverance provided both a warning and a message of future hope through the coming Messiah.
