ENDURING THE FIERY TRIAL

Peter concludes the fourth chapter of his first epistle with one final exhortation concerning suffering. As persecution of Christians was increasing and spreading under Nero's rule, Peter reminds his fellow sojourners that they are also fellow sufferers; not only with Peter, but with Jesus! And as such, they should neither be surprised nor ashamed in the face of the fiery ordeal that was upon them.
